WES BORLAND Says New Gig As MARILYN MANSON Guitarist Will Not Affect BLACK LIGHT BURNS
August 15, 2008Former LIMP BIZKIT/current BLACK LIGHT BURNS member Wes Borland has commented on his decision to join MARILYN MANSON as the group's new guitarist. The news was announced by Manson at a press conference yesterday prior to his band's appearance today (Friday, August 15) at the ETP Festival in Seoul, Korea.
"I am joining MARILYN MANSON for the time being, but as I said before, BLACK LIGHT BURNS is still going strong and I have no problem operating in two bands," Borland writes in an online posting. "MM is playing a show here in Korea, where I am now, in about 8 hours and then I'm on the way back home to start doing some guitars with Nick [Annis, BLB guitarist] on the next BLACK LIGHT BURNS record."
Manson previously said about Borland joining his band, "We have a new guitar player that's gonna play for the first time tomorrow; it's the first time we'll play on stage [together]. His name is Wes Borland and he used to be in a really terrible band that he left because he felt that it was a destructive force in art, and he has his own band, BLACK LIGHT BURNS, but now he is in MARILYN MANSON. We don't know how permanent that is, but starting tomorrow will be the first step. So this will be the most indestructible MARILYN MANSON."

BLACK LIGHT BURNS has just released "Cover Your Heart and The Anvil Pants Odyssey", a combination CD and DVD package on I Am: Wolfpack/YMA Music Group.
Packed with reinterpreted songs of bands including DURAN DURAN ("Hungry Like the Wolf"),THE JESUS LIZARD ("The Art of Self Defense"),SISTERS OF MERCY ("Lucretia My Reflection") and PJ HARVEY ("Rid of Me"),"Cover Your Heart" is a deconstruction and reconstruction of music that the band has loved and appreciated.
MARILYN MANSON is in the middle of recording a new album, which is expected to be released sometime next year.
